4-AcO-DET is a member of the tryptamine class. It is a synthetic chemical, with psychedelic tendencies, producing an altered state of consciousness, marked by uncommon changes in your levels of perception, your mood, and your cognitive processing power. Tryptamines all have a common core structure comprising a bicylic indole heterocycle, which is attached at R3 to an amino group by way of an ethyl side chain. 4-AcO-DET is substituted at R4 of its indole heterocycle, with an acetoxy (AcO) functional group CH3COO−. It also features isopropyl and methyl chains, bound to the terminal amine RN of its tryptamine core (DET).
